Sean McKay

Sean joined the company in 2011. He advises the principals on corporate and legal matters and assists with business development, underwriting, and loan closings. He is a MAP approved underwriter.

Sean practiced law at Ropes & Gray and DLA Piper before joining the company. His practice focused on real estate, corporate and securities law. Before attending law school, he worked in finance as a consultant for Merrill Lynch’s high yield real estate desk, an asset-backed securities analyst for CapMAC and Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Agency, and a financial analyst for Textron Financial Corporation.

Sean received a J.D. with honors from GW Law School in 2003 and a B.A. summa cum laude from Skidmore College in 1994. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha and Periclean honor societies and the recipient of the Jane Ann Hapeman Distinguished Service Award and Richard L. Teberg Award for excellence in securities law.

Sean was twice named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer – Rising Star, and he has received numerous pro bono awards, including an award from the Lawyers Clearinghouse in June 2009 for his work with the homeless.
