Rich Fischer

Rich Fischer joined Rockport Mortgage in 2002 and brings over 29 years of banking and mortgage lending experience to the company.

As Chief Underwriter, Rich manages Rockport Mortgage’s Underwriting teams and oversees all aspects of company’s application processes, quality control, and training. He also serves as one of the company’s senior HUD approved MAP Underwriters, having underwritten 155 FHA loans totaling nearly $2 billion during his tenure with the company. Rich has significant experience in all facets of multifamily lending, including affordable, market rate, low income housing tax credits (LIHTC), new construction, and substantial rehabilitation transactions.

Prior to joining Rockport Mortgage, Rich was employed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for 13 years, being promoted to the position of Case Manager for the FDIC in the Boston Regional office. He served as the lead Federal Regulator for a portfolio of 40 banks in New Hampshire and Maine with assets totaling $35 billion.

Rich holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH and graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Executive Management Program at the University of Delaware in 1999.
