Paul Simon joined Rockport Mortgage in June, 2006 as an intern and currently serves as an FHA MAP Underwriter. In this role, Paul participates in all aspects of the underwriting process from initial loan sizing to third party reviews and application submission.
Paul has closed loans for both market rate and affordable multifamily housing developments under HUD’s 223(f) and 221(d)(4) programs. Types of transactions have included the use of low income housing tax credits (LIHTC), recapitalizing of properties with ELIPRA and LIHPRA Use Agreements, Section 202 refinancing and Section 8 renewals, including mark-up-to-market under HUD’s Capital Repair Program.
Since becoming an HUD-approved MAP underwriter Paul has closed FHA insured multifamily loans amounting to over $410,000,000 in mortgage insurance proceeds covering more than 3,200 units.
Paul graduated from Salem State College with a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He currently resides in Gloucester, MA with his wife Kristina and his two kids, Braydon and Allie.
