John Dromey

John Dromey joined Rockport Mortgage Corporation (RMC) in 2004 after working at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development/Federal Housing Administration (HUD/FHA) for ten years. John was a Senior Real Estate Appraiser in the Boston office.

Since joining RMC, John has completed the underwriting of over 165 approved loan applications for projects located throughout 26 states. Closed loans were comprised of over 23,000 units and total more than 2.5 billion dollars in FHA mortgage insurance proceeds. John has closed loans for multifamily housing projects under HUD’s Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) program and for healthcare facilities under HUD’s Office of Residential Care Facilities (ORCF) LEAN initiative.

John has been a featured speaker at several national HUD training sessions covering topics including MAP underwriting procedures, valuation, mortgage credit and environmental issues. John attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and holds degrees in Finance, History and Education. John studied HUD environmental assessment procedures at the Great Lakes Center for Environmental Studies and has completed over 2,000 hours of appraisal, real estate finance and HUD/FHA specific training.

John is a HUD approved MAP underwriter, an ORCF approved LEAN healthcare underwriter and a retired Massachusetts Certified General Real Estate Appraiser.
