Ed Johnson

Ed Johnson joined Rockport Mortgage in 2012 and serves as Vice President and Mortgage Underwriter. In this capacity Ed participates in all aspects of the underwriting process from initial loan sizing to third party reviews and application submission.

As part of his duties, Ed manages a staff, has direct responsibility for borrower relations and is in frequent communication with the HUD regarding loan applications and related questions. Ed has underwritten 54 FHA loans totaling approximately $750 million during his tenure with the company. Ed has significant experience in all facets of multifamily lending, including affordable, market rate, low income housing tax credits (LIHTC), new construction, and substantial rehabilitation transactions.

Prior to joining Rockport Mortgage, Ed was a partner at a regional CPA firm. During his 21 year career in public accounting Ed developed a broad base of financial experience and served a wide range of industries including the construction, nursing home, multifamily, health care and non-profit industries.

Ed holds a B.A. in Accounting from Assumption College and a M.B.A. in Business Administration from Babson College. He earned his C.P.A. License in 1993 and is a member of the AICPA and Massachusetts Society of CPA’s.
